Electric Sound Bath is the new age and ambient duo of Angela Wilson & Brian Griffith in Los Angeles. Their latest, “Of This World”, began as commissioned pieces that evolved and morphed over several years via purposeful reimagining and unintended happenstance. This long-form creative process mirrored the duo’s own life trajectory and experiences ‘of this world’. The result is a celestial wash of MIDI-driven modular synthesizers crafting slow, unfurling caverns of sound. The type of deep, meditative tones that reward loud and close listening. Allow this music to patiently flow over you, reveling in the crystalline details and heavenly peace.

Recorded in 2017 at Casa Adobe de San Rafael (Glendale), as part of Fiesta de Las Luminarias during a Cacao Ceremony, led by Madre Jaguar. 

Originally performed in one continuous motion, Music For Restoration is an improvised composition that is equally inspired by our instruments, each other and the participants in the hour-long ceremony. This recording comes after countless performances using a similar framework and similar instrumentation, but with a confidence and ease that time bestows.

This is the first in a series of meditation cassettes that pair up musicians with meditation facilitators. In 2016 we were approached by Liz and Dwight from Crash Symbols to help curate a series inspired by meditation cassettes of the early 80s. We jumped at the opportunity and suggested that the first installment be us with Jesse Fleming. 

We started collaborating with Jesse at 356 Mission Gallery after learning he held a weekly meditation called Sunday Sit. We felt our music would benefit the mindfulness practice, so we contacted Jesse, went to a sit and offered to perform for the group. We did a small test run, which was warmly received, and so on an almost-monthly basis we performed for this group, sometimes alongside Jesse, sometimes by ourselves. In both cases, we recorded the sessions.

Heart & Insight Meditations is inspired by these gatherings and the music is the actual recording from the first two sits we performed at in 2015.

s a companion piece, we created a video for the first side of the meditation to serve as a visual centerpiece for your practice. In keeping with our FlemingXESB theme, we edited down a 90m video piece originally seen at Cycle, a 12 hour meditation installation at UCLA Broad Art Center, which was curated and organized by Jesse.

Secular Liminality is an album designed to increase mindfulness when played and provided a gentle backdrop for yoga, meditation, driving, chilling, walking, working and pretty much anything.

All music is improvised and treated as a meditation in and of itself.

Recorded Live on KCHUNG Radio, 1630 AM in Chinatown, Los Angeles for the Tree Monster Breakfast show.

Ki Oni, who also hosts the program, performed alongside Electric Sound Bath for an improvised hour-and-a-half long set.

It was also his birthday

On August 12th, 2015 Electric Sound Bath took over the Healing Light Comfort Zone radio show on KCHUNG in Los Angeles. Instead of chatting or spinning tunes, we performed for about an hour straight.
