“Back to the Ridge” is from our album, Pour Out The Heavy, and uses footage from Radio Hill in Los Angeles. The view looks over the 110 freeway facing North East with blended videographics. Inspiration can come from singular events, but often times you find yourself enthralled in nothing: simply existing, marveling at what must’ve conspired in order to let you be.
Shot at the Salton Sea in California, this video is a meditation on beauty and stillness amidst chaos. It's easy to be overwhelmed, distracted, and outraged by the state of the world, but moving with equanimity while finding the sliver of light is necessary for evolution and emotional stability. While this sea is heavily polluted, produces a noxious odor, and has caused many towns along its shoreline to become abandoned, there is still something tranquil and beautiful about the unique motion of the water.
Crash Symbols has started a guided meditation cassette series called Ataraxia, which we've been helping with. The first release is a collaboration with Jesse Fleming and ourselves. We've worked with Jesse for many years and are stoked to share a release with him. This video is from Jesse's installation ("Cycle") where we performed alongside a video we compiled and accompanying a guided meditation.
From our album Moon Drip. This video features Elisa Halma.
